Yksivärinen (tai mustavalkoinen) valokuvaus on valokuvallisen ilmaisun alkuperä. Ilman väritietoja yksivärinen voi kuvata kohteen muodon ja tekstuurin selkeämmin käyttämällä valoa, varjoa ja niiden välisiä sävyjä.
